My daughter worked with Iris on her personal statement for her college application. We appreciated Iris’s approach in providing constructive guidance, while still emphasizing the importance of my daughter maintaining her “voice” in her essay. In a time when standardized tests are optional and so many students have perfect GPAs and tons of extracurricular activities, it may seem challenging for a student to stand apart from other highly qualified applicants.  Working with someone who understands the climate of college admissions can help students navigate the competitive process. Iris is that person—-not only talented as a writer, but also very knowledgeable and relatable. My daughter was accepted to all of the institutions she applied to, including an Ivy League university and a highly selective liberal arts college. We can credit Iris with helping to support and advise my daughter as she worked toward these accomplishments.

Thank you, Iris!

Iris worked closely with our son and helped him in all aspects of the application process, as well as with all his college application essay requirements. From the start, Iris far exceeded our expectations. She distinguished herself by her very thoughtful, caring and considerate approach to working with our son, both in-person and virtually on several occasions. Iris’s solid history in college counseling, along with her doctorate degree and strong writing background, as well as her calm demeanor and ability to inspire, were all reasons we believe our son achieved success in his application process. He felt comfortable working with Iris from the start, and sought her advice whenever needed throughout the entire process.

Ultimately, he was accepted and invited to attend two of his top school choices. The success was not only attributed to his own hard work, but to Iris’ thoughtful and helpful guidance throughout the process.

We highly recommend Dr. Iris Cushing as a college counselor. We have no doubt she will help others to achieve their college goals.
